Hi! My name is Mathilde. In 2011 I graduated in law from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. How does a lawyer end up in NT2 education?
As long as I can remember I’m fond of language jokes and writing stories. Next to my law school, I had a part-time job as a NT2 teacher and I volunteered with refugees. At some point, I decided to say goodbye to my legal-editorial work and commit myself fully to language teaching. I finished the NT2 Teacher Education at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, after which I started teaching @MORE than les.
My ideal class situation is brimming with lingual humor, fantasy and creativity. How great is it if my love of language translates to fun in the classroom and students realise: Wow, Dutch is really supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
By the way, I don’t exclusively like the Dutch language. Currently, I’m learning Spanish, and singing, dancing and bicycle racing make me very happy too.
