As a Dutch teacher I get to see people grow more proficient and confident, which gives me so much energy!
Language has fascinated me for as long as I can remember, so a Master in linguistics seemed like a very obvious choice for me. I loved learning about the processes behind language acquisition, but something was missing. That ‘something’ turned out to be interacting with people. Teaching Dutch is the perfect combination of these two.
Being a linguist, I am a bit of a grammar geek, but being able to express yourself and having some fun along the way are just as important to me. This is how I like to structure my classes: some grammar, and lots of speaking exercises and games to practice. And, of course, some insight in Dutch culture.
